Background
This year’s addition to a series of Christmas ornaments honoring historic sites in Biloxi, MS. The ornaments from previous years are $25.00 each, including tax.  The complete set of 10 is available for $200.
Previous ornaments in the series include the witch weathervane on the old Peoples Bank, the Biloxi Lighthouse, the Church of the Redeemer, the Saenger Theatre, the Breilmaier House, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Biloxi City Hall, West End Fire Company Museum, and the Dantzler House.
All the ornaments are available through the Creole Cottage at 137 Lameuse Street, Biloxi. If you cannot go in person, the ornaments are available by emailing Kay Miller, or calling Kay Miller at 1-228-435-6339.
Proceeds from sales of the ornaments assist in the work of promoting, preserving and revitalizing downtown Biloxi.
The primary goal of Main Street Biloxi is the preservation and revitalization of the Main Street district, an area that extends from Porter Avenue at the Historic Biloxi Lighthouse to Bellman Street at the historic Church of the Redeemer, and from Highway 90 to the Railroad on Esters Blvd.
This year’s ornament celebrates the preservation of one of the few historic coastal houses not destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Beyond providing office and work space for Main Street Biloxi to replace space lost to Katrina, the Bond-Grant House will provide function and event space for the community if fundraising is sufficient to underwrite the required renovation. The first phase of renovation required a move across the street, finished in March 2006.
