Digital Photography: Markets
In order to set up digital photography as a micro-revenue source, I need a website that will display and sell copies of my photographs — so I don’t have to.
The album that I set up is for comments and display, not for sales. There’s a shopping cart function available (currently disabled), but no checkout function. (Open source software! Go figure. Linking in online commerce is at the top of the to-do list, but nobody has taken on the task.)
I would like to identify a website for low-cost royalty-free low-resolution photography that pays commissions for each sale, rather than maintaining all the ecommerce infrastructure myself. Leaving infrastructure to others, I can concentrate on the content, which is the way I like it.
The list below right is incomplete, and will be updated as new information is obtained.
What are my minimal criteria?
• Business conducted for the most part online
• Handles all sales details, paying commission on sales to photographer
• Accepts & markets low resolution (less than 6 MP) stock photographs
• Provides feedback if photograph rejected
• “Large enough” visibility to garner sales
• An array of licensing options to increase sales
