Welcome to the 28th weekly Digital Camera & Photography Carnival, a round-up of digital camera and photography news, sponsored by about.com.
Shall we start with a few photography examples? Something to inspire! This time, photojournalism provides the examples. Check out any photo by Mark Hancock, but also his commentary, such as Full-frame PJ on filling your photographic frame with life.
Another PJ, Jason Geil of Cincinnati, photographed an Iraqi girl in the United States for treatment of scar tissue from burns. Check out that entire blog — it’s for the photographers of the Cincinnati Post.
Finally, because I can’t resists choo-choo trains, an engine photographed by Jonathan House, who works at a newspaper in Portland, Oregon.
News! We’ve got news.
Darren Hester at Picture Perfect Photography Blog posts a press release from Corel about its Paint Shop Pro Photo Art Suite shown at PMA 2006.
Arun at Digital Photography World is surprised that not much happened in the last month other than the introduction of the Canon EOS 30D, which itself is not much different from the Canon EOS 20D.
Don Giannatti at It’s What I Do posts about and links to 10 Flickr Hacks for Ideas and Fun. My favorite (so far) is the Flickr bee.
If I may be so bold as to link to my other blog: I’ve posted about a photo-a-day challenge that I’ll join once my new camera is delivered. Check out how John Koontz and friends are doing!
A few reviews, shall we?
Digital Photography News excerpts and links to a review of the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-M2 by David D. Busch.
Howard Creech at Digital Camera Reviews checks out the Fujifilm Finepix E900. His opinion? The Canon A620 is better. But the review is wonderfully detailed; go read the whole thing.
Short and sweet, a “first impressions” review by Dan Havlik at Digital Camera Info on the Olympus Stylus 710 concludes that the buttons are too small for the fat-fingered among us but the picture quality is surprisingly good for a camera this small. Read the whole review!
My new camera should be delivered in the next week. If you see me, I’ll be shooting with a Canon Digital Rebel XT!

I have the Rebel XT. I’ve got two lens attachements for it–a wide angle and a telephoto. Had them for several months and I’m ready for new attachments. I think that the attachement lenses are the best thing about the SLR cameras.
