CNN just might shave off several years in purgatory with this one: CNN reporter Drew Griffin put together an investigative report on Obamarama’s relationship with unrepentant Weather Underground bombboy and progressive educational reformer Bill Ayers:
“Just a guy who lives in my neighborhood” — Obamarama on Bill Ayers.

One of the commenters on this post has asserted that “the Weathermen never even killed anybody! Or even planned to…”
Both statements are factually incorrect. For example, the bomb meant for the canteen at Fort Dix, NJ, would have killed and injured dozens if it had not exploded prematurely, killing and injuring the bomb’s makers instead. Another example, guards and policemen were killed and injured in the armed robberies that the group’s members committed to pay for their revolution.
I tracked down a video documenting the Weatherman (or Weather Underground — not to be confused with the present-day meteorologists), embedded below. Caution: disturbing images.
The video includes clips from back in the day plus more recent interviews of the Weather Man principals, including Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn. The two and their compatriots make self-justifying statements that are infuriatingly wrongheaded.These folks were and remain unwilling to work within the constraints of republican democracy towards their goals. Their goal of undermining American republican democracy abides. They were forced to choose methods other than blowing people up.
