The Carnival of the Capitalists is Up!

Check out all the posts at Triple Pundit. I promised myself last week that I’d contribute a post from KOMT — I can only plead that I’ve been busy, again.

  • Yvonne DiVita (Jane of Lip-Sticking and a guest booklister at my personal website) points out in her post that women buy the same sorts of things for home and worksite. She urges her readers to send in their holiday stories, and I urge my readers to send in their holiday booklists. I would love to host you as a guest booklister, as I did for Yvonne.
  • Lucy MacDonald at R.E.A.L. Marketing describes five ways to make time for marketing. Time is something I never have enough of, for almost everything including marketing.
  • Evelyn Rodriguez at Crossroad Dispatches always has interesting things to day. This week she describes two instances of the fire that kindles successful projects, and gives enticing and frustrating hints about her own project in the works.
  • Yaro Starak at Entrepreneur’s Journey writes a long post on thinking outside the online-marketing box. He gently explores the idea that you might choose not to maximize profit, and that choice might free you to use innovative marketing techniques.
  • I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry over the Aesop-like fable about multitasking provided this week by Adrian W. Savage at The Coyote Within. I’m afraid to look in the mirror!
  • My last personal recommendation is a post by Barry Wellford at BPWrap on whether graphic designers should design websites. Since I’m my own graphic designer and website designer and information structural designer and searchability designer and chief cook and bottle-washer — and because graphics is one of the chores I find the most fun — articles on graphic design always snag me. My own thought: if you can afford both, you should have a graphics designer working with a website designer. If you can afford only one, pick the website designer. Better to have a bland but functional website than one that prospective customers can’t figure out how to use.

Do you find news here worth reading? Do you agree (or disagree) with my slant on that news? Buy me a cup of coffee! My recipe for a daily cup: 8 ounces of 2% milk, 2 shots of espresso, 4 shakes of ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons chocolate syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and a topping of light whipped cream. Drop a tip in my jar — whatever amount you want, whatever amount you think I've earned.

  1. [...] UPDATE: From the Supreme Court Nomination Blog: a link to an opinion on the Establishment Clause (a href=”http://www.ca3.uscourts.gov/opinarch/985021.txt”>ACLU v. Schundler). Technorati tags: Alito, Judicial Nominations, Samuel Alito, SCOTUS. [...]

  2. I’m glad you related to the BPWrap item on graphic design. Unfortunately too many purchasers of websites don’t really know what they’re buying. There’s a long way to go but if enough of us spread the message ..

Anyway thanks for the mention. I appreciate that.
