La Palma: 2009/2010 Budget Public Hearing
A budget for fiscal year 2009/2010 is scheduled for public hearing at tonight’s regular meeting of the La Palma City Council.
Included in the new budget are three significant street projects:

Pedestrian signal upgrade
Walker Street at JFK High School, $100,000 -
Rehabilitation of Orangethorpe Avenue
Orangethorpe Avenue from 91 Fwy to Valley View Street, $100,000 -
Moody Street center median*
Moody Street south of Orangethorpe, $46,000
Other capital projects in the new budget:
-
$24,000 to support the La Palma Chamber of Commerce

Design services for marketing the city to attract new business
-
“Lunch with the Mayor” business retention program
-
State of the City luncheon
-
City fact/property profile sheets
-
Professional consulting services for new wall-mounted aerial maps, geographic information system software upgrades and a zoning overlay.
Anyone wishing to comment on the budget before it is adopted is encouraged to attend tonight’s La Palma City Council meeting beginning at 7:00pm in the council chambers at 7822 Walker Street.
* The city of Cypress has also proposed adding a raised landscaped center median to Moody Street between Lincoln Avenue and Cerritos Avenue.
