More California Primary Analysis
Last week, I posted about the move of California’s presidential primary from June to February, and followed up with two other posts, one linking to Bill Bradley’s analysis while the other linked to a post by Assemblyman LaMalfa.
Now there’s Eye on 08, who suspects that internal state politics is at the root of the rumor that Senator McCain is behind the effort to change California State Republican Party rules to allow proportional assignment of delegates during next year’s primary.
Are we having fun yet?
State-level politics in California is broken — unresponsive to constituents and bent on ruining the quality of life and the state’s economy by imposing Nanny State taxes and regulations on anything and everything. The Governator has not helped by wimping out, turning into a post-partisan girly-man.
I would vote against easing term limits, and for reforming the redistricting process. Word of caution: as an indicator of how the state will vote, any opinion of mine should be taken as exactly the opposite of the likely outcome.
