This Week’s Carnival of the Capitalists is Up!

Hosted again by the proprietor, Jay Solo, at its new home.

Proving that being late can make you early, my own post is at the top of the Carnival this week — because I was too late to enter it for last week’s Carnival. I can’t recommend unintended tardiness as standard business practice, but leaping at the Next Big Thing is likewise a bad idea. Moderation is good — and manageable.

Here are the first three posts related to DIY Online Business for One that made me click through:

  • The first-click-through award goes to Rob at BusinessPundit for “A Startup Idea Postmortem” because there is always a lesson to learn from looking back at a start-up. Better to learn before you jump ship into your own dinghy, only to discover it leaks like a sieve.

  • The second-click-through award goes to Alex at the Re Forum for “Innovative Marketing Ideas” because marketing innovation that works, that gets better than what you hoped for, is rare indeed. No One-Man Band can afford to skip whistling past.

  • The one-more-before-the-door award goes to Wayne Hurlburt at Blog Business World for “Recession marketing” because most One-Man Bands live close enough to the edge that they need to plan ahead for bumps in the road — like, say, a recession — because there’s no fat to live off in the budget.

That’s it! For the full-court press, click through to see all the posts this week.

  1. Thanks a million for inclusion on your list! I hope your readers find great value in the “Innovative Marketing Ideas” post, and encourage all to explore our other money-saving topics such as “Ditch Your PMI” and “Homestead Exemptions”.

I’m always grateful to folks who take the time who host carnivals. I know it can be a thankless job. Keep up the great work!
