Orange Sauce for Chinese Stir-Fry
I have leftover roast pork that I want to serve stir-fried with orange sauce — but I have misplaced* my copy of The Thousand Recipe Chinese Cookbook by Gloria Bley.
So I was forced to the Internet:
- Chinese chicken wings includes a sauce that also uses pineapple chunks and juice — definitely a no-no if I want Kid #4 to eat it.
- Orange chicken combines lemon juice and orange juice, which might work if I use a light touch with the lemon. Maybe.
- Orange Sauce Tofu with Baby Bok Choy starts out gluten-free and stays the course by avoiding both pineapple and lemon. Huzzah!
- Making sauce for Chinese orange chicken is part of a series of videos. Kind of annoying when all I want is an ingredients list.
- Stir-fry shrimp with spicy orange sauce can be tweaked, and also avoids the dreaded pineapple and lemon.
From reading over several online recipes, it looks like the only ingredient not on hand is orange juice. Better add it to today’s shopping list before I forget!
* Yes. I have so many books that I lose books among the books. My children add to the books. My husband shrugs. He prefers to read Popular Mechanics and watch Myth Busters.
