Dawdling Tomatoes
This is the first tomato to set this year, a Roma in the front side yard on the western side of the garage:
This first tomato has looked the same for weeks, with no sign of ripening.
There are now more tomatoes set and growing, although none as far along.
Maybe the recent warmer weather will nudge it along. The tomatoes need the temperature to be above 65°F to 70°F to ripen, according to Grow A Tomato. It has easily been above 70°F during the day, but has slipped into the mid 50s overnight.
